The Piano

It's Music Circus season again and along with the amazing shows they do week after week all summer there are many peripheral activities for the theatre inclined-- many of which I have the pleasure to document. This image was one of those unexpected moments... just something I saw and managed to pop a few frames off of while on a break from shooting a kids theatre class downtown. It's the richness of the natural light, the intimate feel of the teacher leaning in to listen and encourage a student. It's pretty awe inspiring to watch both the kids and the teachers work. I never got involved in theatre as a kid, too scary for me, but I sure have enjoyed living vicariously camera in hand!

Joan Jett, Warped Tour!

Joan Jett took the main stage during Van's Warped Tour today in Marysville and she was a sight to behold-- looking gorgeous and edgy as she rocked out with her band to a giant crowd that sang along with every great song.
The obscene heat was hard on everyone but some things just can't be missed-- Joan is one of them.

Ozzfest 2006, Hey There Metal Girl!

No no no, I'm NOT a metalhead! But Ozzfest in Marysville yesterday was non-stop craziness, the bands were all on fire and I was just one big walking smile. I was shooting for eMusiConnect.com and probably shot more pics in one day than ever before. The show started around 10am on the Second Stage and ended late that night with System of a Down headlining the Main Stage.
